About
The Goodwill and Salvation Project 2005
In this project forty used dresses were purchased from Goodwill and Salvation Army stores. Short inspirational quotes from nostalgic pop songs were embroidered in each dress, usually discreetly in seams or linings. These dresses were used as sculptural material to build and rebuild various organic forms. After documentation, all of the dresses were returned to the same thrift stores where originally purchased.
This project was made possible through assistance from The Toronto Arts Council, Ontario Arts Council and The Canada Council of the Arts.
